Squeaky bum time in SHC
May 11, 2012
Five clubs are set to exit the race for the 2012 Galway senior hurling title this weekend.
Even though, there are only five months of the year gone, after Sunday's round of matches, a number of teams will be battling to avoid relegation.
Ten teams that lost out in the first round go head to head this weekend with the five winners going through to the next stage of the championship, while the remaining teams will be left to battle it out to steer clear of the drop to the intermediate grade.
One of the teams in this precarious position is 2011 All-Ireland club champions Clarinbridge, while Portumna and Athenry are also in the same quandary.
The five games are as follows:
Portumna v. Ardrahan
Liam Mellows v. St Thomas'
Athenry v. Kiltomer
Carnmore v. Padraig Pearses
Clarinbridge v. Mullagh
