Big guns avoid each other in SHC draw
May 04, 2012
Recent All-Ireland champions Clarinbridge and Portumna have been kept apart in the Galway SHC second round draw.
Clarinbridge, however, will still have a difficult game on their hands against Mullagh, who they faced in last year's quarter-final. Portumna, who were also surprising losers in last weekend's first round action, have been paired with Ardrahan.
Last year's beaten semi-finalists St. Thomas' will face Liam Mellows, while the loser of next Monday's replay between Castlegar and Kiltormer will meet Athenry. In the other second round tie, Carnmore take on Athenry. The second round fixtures have been pencilled in for the weekend of May 12-14.
