Corofin and St. James' meet in U21FC final
May 04, 2012
St. James' will try to stop Corofin from achieving a three-in-a-row of U21FC 'A' title wins when they meet in Sunday's final at Pearse Stadium (throw-in 4pm).
Terry O'Regan, who manages the city side, is under no illusions about the task facing his team.
"Corofin are the standard bearers of underage football and I suppose we are the new kids on the block so it'll be an interesting game," he told the Connacht Tribune.
"It's going to be tight, no doubt about it. Corofin are certainly the team to beat. I think it should be a good, open game of football - both teams are very football orientated. I'd say there'll be nothing in it in the end."
The champions are missing 11 players through injury and emigration, including star performers Ronan Steede and Conor Cunningham, but will still enter the decider as favourites.
