League survival a stepping stone for Cunningham
April 27, 2012
Anthony Cunningham says Galway's relegation playoff replay victory over Dublin gives them something to build on for the rest of the year.
"It sets us up for the championship, no more than that," the Galway manager told the Connacht Tribune.
"It gives us great confidence and it is a base. Obviously, it's going to make training easier and more competitive and that is what we are about."
Cunningham added that the Galway panel would remain open-ended ahead of June's Leinster SHC quarter-final against Antrim or Westmeath.
"It is going to be a revolving door in our set-up, that's for sure. Jonathan Glynn wasn't on the panel three weeks ago and when we brought him in guys were saying 'where are ye going?', but he has done well.
"We have used 33 players and we have tried guys in different positions but it was great to see Jonathan coming in there, and other players who weren't on the panel two or three weeks ago, and doing well."
