Gleeson, PK
January 20, 2011The death occurred on Thursday last in the Regional Hospital Galway after a short illness of PK Gleeson, Portland Lorrha.
PK, who was 61 years of age, came from a popular and well known family in Redwood, Lorrha. A very private and quiet individual, he liked to fish and was a familiar figure around the Shannon which is very close to his home. He was a talented musician and could play almost any instrument which he did do for a number of years. He won a North football final with Lorrha back in 1966 and he also played hurling at Juvenile level. Sympathy is extended to his wife Mary, brothers John (Birr), Bosco (Portlaoise), Lar (Redwood), sisters Frankie Naughton (Nenagh), Betty Killeen (Lorrha), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. After Funeral Mass in St Ruadhan's Church Lorrha on Sunday last, burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.
