Mr Seamus Hoade

The death occurred peacefully last weekend of Mr. Seamus Hoade, Carrowferickeen House, Monivea after a short ilness at University Hospital Galway. Seamus (78) was throughout his life a hard-working framer and a man respected by all who knew him.
Throughout his life he was a commited G.A.A man as a player, administrator , supporter and an advocator of the game of hurling and for many years he provided playing field for his beloved Skehanagh on his farm. His remains reposed at his residence before being removed to Skehanagh Church for mass of the resurrection.
A guard of honour was formed from Skehanagh and Menlough G.A.A clubs as a mark of great respect. Fr John O'Gorman spoke of him as a light of the community, a man who love his land and of his involvement and commitment to the GAA The Church choir enhanced a beautiful celebration of his life and family members participated in the offertory procession, readings and prayers of the faithful. He was laid to rest in Doonane Cemetery after Mass.
He is survived by his wife Noreen, sons, James and Eugene, daughters, Carmel and Margaret, son-in-law Martin, daughters-in-law Tracie, grandsons Cathal and Oisin, sister Mrs margeret Dolan, Aughrim, brothers-in-law nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. There was a large and representative attendance at both days of his funeral
