Cunningham demands improvement

August 23, 2010
Galway boss Anthony Cunningham admits his side will need to improve on their display against Dublin if they are to upset Tipperary in next month's Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland U21HC final.

"We will need to step up, but we are in the final and that will be a great experience for this group and we'll see how it goes," said Cunningham, who captained the Tribesmen to an All-Ireland under 21 triumph in 1986.

"It was our first competitive game and while a lot of work was done and there were some good challenge matches, there is always the worry about getting up to the pace of the game.

"There was a big worry that we were going in cold whereas Dublin already had a couple of very good games under their belt, but we got stronger as the game progressed."
