McIntyre looking ahead to Premier test

March 02, 2010

Galway hurling manager John McIntyre
John McIntyre believes his Galway will be up against it when they travel to Thurles on Sunday week to take on Tipperary in Division One of the NHL.

McIntyre has cited last weekend's shock defeat to Dublin as an extra incentive for Tipp when they host the Tribesmen at Semple Stadium, where his team are set to be put to the test against last year's narrowly beaten All-Ireland finalists.

"It is the worst thing from Galway's perspective that Tipperary were beaten by Dublin because it'll give them an edge for our game," McIntyre admitted.

"But it'll be a good test for our fellas, and at least we are going into it with a little bit of momentum.

"Fellas are stepping up to the mark, but we have to produce some more consistent effort over the 70 minutes."
