Representatives of the Galway Football, hurling, ladies football and Camogie teams are lending their support to a community cycle that is taking place on Saturday 10th April. The cycle will start from four points around the county - Abbeyknockmoy, Tuam, Baile na hAbhann and Gort and in will end in Eyre Square.

John Fitzmaurice of Jigsaw says "one in four young people experience difficulties at any given time and it crucial that we make them and their families aware of the support available. It may well be the person you played beside on the football, hurling or camogie team on Sunday. By taking part you will be helping to put mental health on the agenda in the same way as our physical health".

Damien Joyce of the Galway hurlers says 'we are delighted to be supporting the Jigsaw cycle. Jigsaw is offering a terrific service to the young people of the city and county, anything we can do to help raise awareness of the services they provide is a positive step'

John says that "the cycle is 28km (less than 18 miles) in length so it a distance that is easily achievable - it's a bit like a Sunday stroll around the Aran Islands!"

Clubs that enter can win a trip for 4 to Old Trafford for a Man United game with flights from Galway and a set of Jerseys for the sports team of your choice (which have being kindly sponsored).

Why not get four people from your club to take part - pit yourself against other clubs or groups in your area? Why not have two teams from the one club racing against each other?

Jigsaw Galway is the first of its kind in the country and is based on best practice worldwide. It is a charitable organisation with an emphasis on supporting young people (15 - 25 year olds) around their mental health needs and in particular young people with emerging mental & emotional health difficulties. In our first year of operation it has served over 550 young people in Galway city and county
