Galway's Shane Kavanagh
Galway captain Shane Kavanagh has stressed that the Tribesmen are determined to go as far as possible in the league this year.
A first round defeat to Dublin last year set them back and although they could still have reached the 2009 decider, it was regarded as a poor campaign by many.
However, Kavanagh feels that having got off to a perfect start with a win over Limerick; they are keen to make it two wins from two when they face Waterford on Sunday.
"I suppose, we could still have made a league final last year, but, ultimately, it was the early league lapses that came back and cost us," said Kavanagh.
"So, we have two points now in the bag and Waterford coming to Galway next weekend. As far as I am concerned that will be another chance to get two more.
"Then we have a break and you won't feel it until we will be getting more lads back again, from injury or whatever. So, already, things are starting to look good."
