Tuam Stars Notes
January 28, 2010
CLUB SOCIAL
Our Club social takes place on February 27th in The Ard Ri House
Hotel. This is a very special occasion for Tuam Stars as we are
celebrating a very successful year on the football field in 2009. Our
Senior team won the Sweeney Oil League Final, our Junior A team won
the North Board & County League Finals and our Junior C team won the
'Grand Slam' by capturing the North Board Championship and League as
well as winning the County Championship, having gone unbeaten for the
full season in all competitive games.
On the night we will be presenting our 2009 winning teams with their
North Board and County medals and we will also be presenting our 2009
'player of the year' awards to our senior, Junior A, Junior C, u-21 &
minor players, as chosen by their management teams.
We will also be surprising someone by presenting them with an
'Outstanding Contribution' award for the work that he or she has done
throughout the years for Tuam Stars. Geraldine Joyce has kindly
sponsored a Cup in honour of her late husband Philip, our former
secretary and respected clubman. The Philip Joyce Memorial Cup will
be presented to the recipient to keep for one year. His or her name
will be engraved on the Cup as a reminder of the achievement and will
also receive a memento from Tuam Stars to keep. The Club intends to
make this an annual award.
Tickets costing Ä30 can be had by contacting Alan Talty (087
9918053), Frank O'Grady (086 8488931), Ian Doyle (086 3970514) and
