AIB club hurling: Victories for St. Galls and Black & Whites
January 24, 2010
St. Gall's of Antrim qualified for the AIB All-Ireland club IHC final at Parnell Park yesterday, while Kilkenny's Black & Whites are through to the All-Ireland club JHC semi-final.
St. Gall's hurlers showed their footballers the way with a surprise 0-12 to 0-10 victory over Galway champions Tynagh/Abbey Duniry in a tense semi-final. Conor McGourty hit 0-8 of the winners' total, but they needed to defend well to hold off their opponents' late charge.
In Nowlan Park, meanwhile, Black & Whites had no problem booking a place in the All-Ireland club JHC semi-final when they hammered a hapless John Mitchells of Warwickshire by 4-19 to 0-2.
