Leitir Mor face stern examination

January 22, 2010
Tyrone champions Cookstown stand between Leitir Mor and a place in the All-Ireland intermediate club football championship final. The An Ghaeltacht club - who had three players on duty with Joe Kernan's Galway at the weekend - meet Cookstown at Pearse Park, Longford on Sunday (2.30). Colm MacDonnachdha is out with cartilage trouble but Padraig Mac an Riogh returns from a broken jaw. If they win, Naomh Anna will get to play at Croke Park for the first time in 25 years. The last time the club appeared at HQ was the 1975 All-Ireland Ghaeltacht competition. Twelve of Cookstown's team have won underage All-Irelands with the O'Neill County and their most established player is three-times All-Ireland winner Owen Mulligan.
