Headford notes
01 December 2009Lotto- There was no winner in our draw for a jackpot of Ǩ5,350, which was held in Ryder's Bar. Numbers drawn were 6,17,18,23. We had one match 3- John Joe Walsh, Kinlough, Headford. Promoters prize went to Sally Waldron, c/o Pot Luck. Next weeks draw for a jackpot of Ǩ5,500 will be held in The Anglers Rest Hotel on Sunday December 6th. Tickets are Ǩ2 or 3 for Ǩ5 and can be bought from all shops and pubs around the town.
Junior C's qualified for the league final after a deserved 2-8 to 0-7 win over Williamstown on Sunday. The pitch in Headford was in ideal condition despite the recent heavy rain. We led at half time by five points and a goal midway through the second half sealed the win. Thanks to Gerry Guinan for refing. We will play Tuam Stars in the final on Sunday morning. With so many pitches unplayable it's most likely that the game will be played in Headford or Tuam after both clubs agreed to toss a coin for choice of venue.
Anybody interested in ordering club gear as a Christmas present please contact a committee member by tomorrow, Thursday, at the latest.
