Ryan considering appeal
July 03, 2009
Galway hurling board chairman Miko Ryan will decide today whether or not to appeal against his eight-week suspension.
The long-serving official was issued with the ban by the Galway county board following a sideline altercation with county hurling selector John Moylan during the recent Leinster SHC semi-final defeat by Kilkenny in Tullamore.
It is believed the altercation arose when Ryan tried to stop a physio from entering the field, and Moylan took him to task on interfering.
Ryan has until today to lodge an appeal. "I will make up my mind then, but I don't want to go into it all at this stage," he said.
He also confirmed that he will stepping down as hurling board chairman at the end of the year, but stressed that it had nothing to do with his suspension.
