New Sligo football manager Kevin Walsh isn't fazed by the fact that his first game in charge will be against his native Galway. Walsh, who was a star midfielder in Galway's 1998 and 2001 All-Ireland successes, will take charge of his new charges for the first time when they meet the Tribesmen in the opening round of the FBD Connacht League on January 4 at Markievicz Park. "Playing Galway in the first game doesn't really matter," he said. "We will be playing them in the first match of the championship later in the year so it will be great to have that out of the way early on." Tweet
