Donegal GAA mourn sudden passing of popular young mum Karen

The Donegal GAA community is in mourning after the sudden passing of Karen Cahill, daughter of county board assistant secretary Ed Byrne.

Originally from Killybegs, popular 28-year-old Karen had been living in Tuam for the past four years, having moved to Galway when she was a student.

Donegal GAA have paid tribute to Karen who is the partner of Eoin and the mother of young Matthew.

"CLG Dhún na nGall are very sad to inform you about the sudden death of Karen Cahill, the beloved daughter of Emer Cahill and Ed Byrne our Assistant Secretary," Donegal GAA wrote in a Facebook post.

"Karen was only 28 and our thoughts and prayers are with her partner Eoin, son Matthew and with Emer and Ed and their children Shane, Darragh and Grace at this terribly sad time.

"Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasail."
