Kevin Stritch has replaced Paddy Tally as Galway football coach.

Tally, whose style of play divided opinions, left the role after this year's championship campaign to become manager of his native Down. A native of Kilmore, Co. Roscommon, Stritch was previously involved with Longford and has coached a number of other teams. Brian Silke and Sean Conlon will continue as manager Kevin Walsh's selectors.

Meanwhile, newly-appointed Galway U20 manager Padraic Joyce is believed to have recruited former team-mate John Divilly and ex-player and senior manager Liam Sammon for his backroom team. John Concannon and Michael Comer are also expected to be involved.
