Winning is all that matters to Corofin

Injured Corofin captain Ciaran McGrath feels that the manner of their performances is irrelevant as they have achieved their first priority of returning to Croke Park.

The Galway and Connacht champions had to play most of their All-Ireland club semi-final with 14 men after full forward Martin Farragher was sent off in the opening minutes.

The standard of football, aside from Liam Silke's match winning goal that is, may not have been the best, but Corofin put in a workmanlike performance to return to the final.

They now have the chance of adding to their titles won in 1998 and 2015 and McGrath who has been sidelined for the last two games stressed that semi-finals were all about winning.

"Look, the important thing is that we are back in the final and that is the main goal. Over the last two games, it was to get to Croke Park and into a final and we have done that," McGrath states in the Connacht Tribune.

"However, we know ourselves, that won't be good enough to win a final and we have a lot of work to do over the next three to four weeks."
