Eoin Donnelly says Monaghan punished every mistake Fermanagh made in Breffni Park last weekend.

The Ernemen matched their neighbours for long periods of the Ulster SFC semi-final but the Farney County pounced on every error they made.

"It's a lesson we've learned time and time again," Coa clubman Donnelly notes in The Fermanagh Herald. "If you don't play with intensity for the full 70 minutes, you're going to get punished.

"We maybe conceded a few frees, we went a man down for a wee period as well and I gave away a soft goal, so those are the sort of things where you get caught out with a Division One team.

"We knew if we played to the top of our game that we could challenge them, but anytime we dropped below that they punished us straight away.

"In the second half, any time we dropped anything short or got turned over, they were going up the pitch at pace and that's what Division One teams do to you. They punish you every time."
