Fermanagh manager Pete McGrath learned enough this year to be optimistic for 2015.

McGrath admits that he didn't know how good his squad was when he first came into the job, but stressed to the Fermanagh Herald that he has learned so much about them during the year that he looking forward to a big year in 2015.

Fermanagh made their exit from this year's All-Ireland campaign following their defeat to Laois last Saturday, although there were plenty of positives to take from the defeat.

"I did not know anything about the players' ability, attitude or character when I came in. I feel like I have learned a lot. We were in division three this year, that is our level," said McGrath.

"Laois are a team who are above that, they are in the upper echelons of the game and they power and ability to move the ball could be seen there yet we were still very close to them."
