Big day for Sam
May 03, 2013
Fermanagh will face Mayo at Brewster Park tomorrow in a senior football challenge to raise funds for toddler Sam Bradley, who is battling a rare form of cancer.
The 21-month-old, whose father Colm is a former Erne County star, will be the centre of attention for the game which takes place at 6pm. Sam's mother Michelle hails from Kiltimagh, hence the reason why Mayo have been chosen to provide the opposition for Peter Canavan's side.
"It's something we wanted to organise to start the fundraising and, yes, it was something obvious to us to try and arrange a football match," Colm Bradley explained to the Fermanagh Herald.
"We are delighted that Fermanagh and Mayo have thrown their weight behind Sam's campaign. And it is sure to be a great game too. Mayo reached a league semi-final this year and, of course, the All-Ireland final last year, while Fermanagh have been playing great stuff this season."
There is no admission fee for the game, but patrons will have the opportunity to donate to the 'Sam Bradley Care Fund' once they enter Brewster Park.
