Duffy pleased with latest win

Fermanagh hurling joint-manager Sean Duffy expressed satisfaction with his side's victory over Longford in the opening round of the Lory Meagher Cup.

The 11-point win has secured a semi-final spot for the Erne County, who are riding the crest of a wave after their recent capture of the Allianz League Division 3B title.

"We didn't play as well as the last day, but I suppose it shows how well you're doing when you're disappointing despite winning," he said in the Fermanagh Herald.

Duffy was very pleased with the performances of Paul McGoldrick and Rory Porteous after their recent injury layoffs.

"Paul played well for 40 minutes and got on the scoreboard. He seems to be going well. Rory showed up well. He came on at corner back, but he can play anywhere. He's one of those guys who can play in the half forward line, and he has played at midfield for his club."
