St Mick's Narrowly Beaten By; St Patrick's of Keady

A mere puck of the sliotar deprived they bravely battling St Michael's team from advancing to the Kirk Cup final, when they went down to St Patrick's of Keady in the replay of they Kirk Cup semi-final, played at Annyalla, County Monaghan. It was they livelier St Mick's side who eventually got this game off to scoring start, when their late mid -fielder Barry Duffy lofted in a deadly accurate free from the centre to have landed in the St Patrick's net, and helped on by an excitably defender. However they tenacious battling fought back, and now three unanswered points, all from frees by their ace point taker Ryan Donnelly. With less five minutes to this game's interval both team's scoring machines got back into action, when Ciaran Corrigan for they Drumclay based side pucked over they Enniskillen college's opening two points from play. Then as the half time was fast approaching the supremely inform Ryan Donnelly clipped over his and his side's fourth point.

The Second Half

St Patrick's Step Up To the Mark
Though it was they St Mick' s side that had they powerful wind at their backs, it was their South Armagh side that began the second half's scoring, with fifth from a free by ace marksmen Ryan Donnelly. Quick to sportingly retaliated they Enniskillen side's Ciaran Corrigan clipped over his and sides fifth point from a play. Then in a devious game of scoring cat and mouse they St Patrick's Ryan Donnelly popped over St Patrick's sixth point from a free, putting the south Armagh college in front for the first time, with a score of 6 points to 1 goal 2 points. Towards the end of that quarter St Michael's Ciaran Corrigan with a point from created this game's third draw. With this match entered its' fourth and final quarter, and they wining of this game still undecided, they 'star' men of both sides stepped up their free scoring role. Unfortunately for they the Enniskillen Connolly, who conceded more scorable frees, and with the Keady college's ace score taker Ryan Donnelly, who now moved into point wining form, with four match winning scores in the matches last quarter, and all from frees. For they St Michael's ace score taker Ciaran Corrigan, with a modest two further points, all from fees, he and his side lost this game score winning exercise,. As the Enniskillen College were on the scoring back foot, they now had conjure up goal scoring chances, either from frees or play. Alas for they Drumclay based side their opponents now battened down their defence hatches, and no what tactic that they St Michael's boys pursued, there was way through this south Armagh fortress. For they eventually winners St Patrick's they added two more vital points to copper fasten their win of the Kirk Cup Semi-final replay, and go one to play in the final of this competition.
