A Gaelic footballer from Co. Fermanagh is recovering after he was shot and viciously assaulted in Huddersfield last weekend.
Twenty-two-year-old Feargal Cross from Enniskillen, who is a design student at Huddersfield University, was shot with an air rifle before being beaten about the head. He had been walking home from a night out with friends and was less than a mile from his house when he was attacked without warning.
Mr Cross was rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary Hospital before being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary, where he is still being treated. Police in Huddersfield have arrested two suspects, aged 16 and 31, in connection with the attack.
