Monaghan added the Ulster MH Shield to their MHL Division 2 title when they got the better of Fermanagh last night.

Brian Greenan gave the victors a dream start when he netted after only three minutes. Niall Garland added a second goal before Matthew Martin replied with a similar score for Fermanagh in first half stoppage-time.

Monaghan opened up an eight-point lead early in the second half, but Fermanagh had the margin down to five when Tommy Cleary pounced for their second goal. Bu they couldn't get any closer as the Farney boys held on for the win.

Scorers - Monaghan: N Garland 1-8, B Greenan 1-1, B McQuaid and K Crawley 0-1 each. Fermanagh: M Martin and T Cleary 1-1 each, C Corrigan 0-3.
