Division 3B-Final
Sunday, 15 April, 2012
At Parnell Park, Dublin.

Fermanagh, 2 gls. 15 pts;
Warwickshire, 2 gls. 5pts.

Though they home based Fermanagh senior hurling side only a mere four weeks ago narrowly defeated they visiting Warwickshire by a solitary point. In complete contrast they Ernesiders in the National Hurling League Division 3b Final simply blew away their exile opponents, with a telling final score of 2 goals 15 points to 2 goals 5 points for Warwickshire.

For they latter team the final score was flattering to them, with their goals coming at near the end of the game, when they Fermanagh full back was red carded. They Ernesiders had still too many scores on scoreboard and too much fuel in their tanks to be overcome in the dying moments, and went on to win their county's second National Hurling Divisional title.

Many components come to play a part in this historic victory, firstly they appointment of Peter Bogue as county hurling, with ever dutiful hurling board secretary Jacinta Teague. They back room boys of Kevin McGarry and Anthony Teague. On the field of play where the real winning took place, saw inspirational team leadership from Karl Kehoe, who provided consistent captaincy in all national Hurling games in 2012. Then beginning in defence we had they pocket dynamo at right full back Daniel Teague, who scooped up everything, defended every where, and launched accurate missiles back down field.

Leap froging to mid-field, where Ryan Bogue reigned supreme, launching over four expertly taken points from frees. In this narrow band of inexaustive terriers finally at right full forward was Sean Corrigan, who destroyed his defence, with massive game's score of 2 goals 3 points. Many other of this team played their parts in bringing back a second National Hurling League Divisional title to Fermanagh in twenty years.
The Game first half.

Fermanagh's domination of this the national Hurling League Division 3b Final of 2012, with the simply philosophy first to the ball, first to score! Though they Ernesiders were a trifle slow to get into scoring mode, they soon made amends, when Sean Corrigan and Ryan Bogue pucked over from play and had their side's first points.

Though Warwickshire did make penetrating runs into the heart of the Fermanagh defence wee Danny Teague saw them off and returned the slithor back down field. Finally the exiles had an opening point from Chris Brough. However the Ernesiders began to step up their attacks, with firstly who re-entered they scoring fray with his second point. Then the big man at right left half forward J.P. McGarry fired over massive mid field point.

But the scoring highlight of the opening half, when they leading contender for man-of.the-match Sean Corrigan darted through a mesmerised exile defence and blasted his and Fermanagh's first goal from play. Warwickshire's response was a modest third point from Michael Ivors from a free. With the opening quarter now over and the park's score board declaring Fermanagh, with 1 goal 4 points to they Exiles paltry 3points, they Ernesiders were more on a stampede than a roll.

Michael Ivors remerged as Fermanagh's main threat when he popped over his second and side's fourth point to barely keep them in the game. New Erneside player Eoin Morrissey more than earned his place on the team, when after fetching high and grabbing the slithor, when on a darting run through they Exile defence to popped over his sides fifth point from play. They latter was joined in this mini scoring blitz by ace free taker Ryan Bogue, who clipped over his sides sixth point from a free. Barely on the pitch, had Declan McGarry slipped through for his side's seventh point from a play.

This matches' mid second quarter saw a modicum of scoring by either side. But within ten minutes till the matches' half time, they Warwickshire lads came back into the scoring reckoning, with their fifth point by Mick Bermingham from play to attempt to narrow the widening scoring gap, between both teams. Just on half time Fermanagh's Andrew Breslin popped over his team's eighth point before the break.

Half time scores
Fermanagh, 1gl. 8 pts; Warwickshire, 0gl. 5pts.

As in the opening half, it was they Fermanagh side that got this game's scoring of to a resumption with a point from play by they Erneides right half back John Duffy. They Ulster county's lead would have been greater only for a repeat of wasteful wides. However Fermanagh's starting sub. Shea Curran stepped into the scoring void, when accurately pucked over from play for his team's tenth point from play. That latter score was to heralded fifteen minutes of Erneside domince of the park and scoreboard, when they Fermanagh lads spritely increased their lead by a further four points from, Sean Corrigan (2 pts.). Substitute Paul McGolderick (2pts.) in time honoured Fermanagh tradition announced his presence by clipping over the first and his side's fourteenth point from a free.

Suddenly an effortlessly dominant Erneside came to a near self destruct, when firstly full back Cathal McGarry was the recipient of a red card, which the surprisingly awaken Warwickshire side's Kieran Courtney , seized the scoring initiative through the surpringly porous Fermanagh defence and ballasted home his ides first goal from play. Barely had Ernesiders recovered from sucker attack, when they latter's team mate Michael Ivors repeated his colleague goal scoring initiative However Fermanagh's ace right corner forward Sean Corrigan blasted home his second goal from play. With ten points now in front they Ernesiders regrouped and staved off any would be further scoring attacks by they exiles. Thus they mighty hurling men from Fermanagh went on to capture their second National Hurling League Divisional title in twenty years.
