Portadown boss fuming with McCabe

Fermanagh's Shane McCabe
Shane McCabe's Fermanagh return has not gone down well with Portadown manager Ronnie McFall.

McCabe has turned his back on soccer to concentrate full-time on gaelic football for the 2012 season and McFall feels he was left in the lurch by the player's withdrawal:

"It's my understanding Shane was involved in a Fermanagh training camp at the weekend.

"I asked him to play against Ballymena but he basically sent a text back saying 'No'.

"Therefore, he is in breach of contract and suspended without wages. It's a major blow. I'm disappointed."

McCabe, who has been named in the Ernesiders' 35-strong league panel, says: "I have never really proven myself as an intercounty footballers and I want to see if I can do that."
