Winning start pleases Treacy

Fermanagh's Seamus Quigley celebrates.
Selector Gerard Treacy was delighted with Fermanagh's performance against Antrim in last Sunday's McKenna Cup opener against Antrim, which was Peter Canavan's first game in charge of the Erne County.

"I was very, very pleased with the attitude, commitment and endeavour should by the players from one to 20," he told the Fermanagh Herald.

"Great application and that's what we're looking for."

Treacy revealed there will be a number of changes to the side for this Sunday's clash with Queen's University, which provides the new management with another opportunity to look at players.

"Yes, there will be changes, for the competition is being used as an opportunity to look at all panel members. Last week we used 20, making three interval changes even through we had reached half-time in the lead.

"This would appear to be one of the strongest Queen's panels of recent years. Apparently they gave Tyrone a hard run for quite a lot of their game last Sunday despite the fact that they had some big names missing.

"With these players back, it will obviously strengthen their hand so we will have a game on our hands."
