SFC: Teemore down Tempo
August 13, 2010
Teemore 2-13
Tempo 0-11
Tempo booked their place into the last eight of the Fermanagh SFC on Sunday when they saw off Tempo's challenge at Brewster Park.
The Shamrocks put in a five-star display which was ignited by a brilliant start which saw them race 1-5 to 0-1 lead inside the first ten minutes, with Gerry Quinlan bagging the goal.
Tempo received their wake-up call shortly after that as Cathal McCaffrey, Thomas Dunne and Ciaran Brady knocked over the scores to trim their deficit to three - 1-7 to 0-7 - at the break.
In the second-half, Tempo resumed with real intent and drew level through scores from Aidan Breen and Daryl Keenan, but John Fitzpatrick and Sean Curry raised white flags down the other end to keep Temore's noses in front.
Coming into the final quarter, both teams dug deep and when Curry was dragged down in the square in chase of possession the winners were awarded a penalty which the attacker directed to the top-corner himself to help settle the issue.
