Clubs in County Fermanagh have been urged to approach potential candidates for the county team manager's position before forwarding nominations to the County Board's Management Committee.
Nomination forms were circulated to the various clubs earlier this week, with a deadline for initial nominations set at Tuesday week (August 17th).
However, County Board secretary Tom Boyle has stressed that clubs must not nominate any manager without first making contact with the individual involved.
Quoted in the Fermanagh Herald, Boyle said, "It should be stressed that it is crucial that clubs do not simply put up a name. It is essential that the prospective candidate be approached by the club and give agreement to allowing his name to go forward."
The new protocols come in response to a situation which has arisen in a number of counties in recent years, whereby a manager's candidacy was considered before he subsequently withdrew from the race.
