JP Rooney and Shane Lennon both found the net as Louth kept up their promotion charge with a surprisingly comfortable NFL Division 3 victory over Fermanagh at Brewster Park.

Rooney bagged 1-3, with his goal coming after a defensive mistake in the first half which helped the visitors to a two-point interval lead. Louth extended their lead after the restart through scores from Rooney, Andy McDonnell, Shane Lennon and midfielder Brian White.

Fermanagh, who were heavily reliant on free-taker Matthew Keenan for their scores, had Ciaran McElroy sent off on a second yellow card in the 55th minute which put paid to their comeback hopes. And their misery was complete when Lennon struck for an injury-time goal which sealed the Wee County's third win of the campaign. Tweet
