McCarron eager to impress against native county

Former Tyrone ace Aidan McCarron
Aidan McCarron admits he would love to get one over on his former Tyrone team-mates when he lines out for Fermanagh in tonight's McKenna Cup semi-final at Healy Park. The Fintona native recently transferred to the Erne County where he plays his club football with Enniskillen Gaels, having been deemed surplus to requirements by Tyrone manager Mickey Harte, despite a promising underage career. "I had some great days with Tyrone - minor, under 21 and senior - but I'm firmly wearing the green now," the 27-year-old attacker said. "I'm a Fermanagh man football-wise and that's where my priorities lie. If I can put one over on the old team, it'll be even more delightful, but we're not getting carried away." McCarron insists he bears no grudge towards Mickey Harte, despite the lack of opportunities he got with Tyrone. "I suppose I never really made the breakthrough but being honest, the way I'm looking at it now is that the only man I have anything I want to prove to is Malachy O'Rourke. "Mickey Harte has his own worries at the minute, he's his own players to pick from, and my worries lie with the Fermanagh management team. That's where my priorities lie. If I have anything to prove, it is to those men and nobody else. I want to give it my best."
