Though the Fermanagh mid-fielder was piling on scores, so was his opponents like Clement Cunniffe who now registered his sides tenth and eleventh points from a mid-field frees. As the games referee was about to put his whistle to his mouth and blow half-time, up step the scoringly quiet Fermanagh right half forward John Duffy to puck the opening half's last score a well taken point from play. As both teams ran off the pitch at the match's interval, it was very obvious which team had a very first half satisfactory performance. However any game is composed of four quarters and the totality of scored in those seventy minutes that count.
