Erne keen to prove critics wrong
November 21, 2008
Erne Gaels manager Declan McGloin believes that winning an Ulster title would be a huge boost to the club as they get ready to face Tyrone champions Trillick in the intermediate club football semi final.
Having won the county title following a poor league campaign, McGloin believes that they proved many people wrong and that winning on Sunday would emphasise that fact.
"I think we were written off by everyone before the game (final) but as our captain Ciaran Smith, said after the game we knew we were a lot better than people were saying we were," said McGloin.
"Every game we play now is a step up. It is not really intermediate standard anymore. We are playing winners who have beaten winners and we will have to be on our game to reach an Ulster final."
