Maguire hopeful of causing a shock

St Patrick's boss Sean Maguire knows that his side face one of the sternest tasks they're likely to come across in their playing days when they travel to Crossmaglen this Sunday to take on the defending Ulster Club champions.
"It's a big task for us that's for sure," said Maguire. "We, and everybody else, know all about Crossmaglen and their wins in the Ulster and All-Irelands. They are a first-class outfit.
"We are absolutely delighted to have secured our first county title, we spent a lifetime chasing it, but that is not to say we are not going into Ulster looking to perform."
The Donagh men go into the match without at least five or their first team, with team captain Fergal O'Reilly, Kevin Maguire, Paul Cosgrove and Paul McManus all missing out through injury, while Paul McCaffrey and Eamonn McDermott are injured.
"It's a pity we'll be missing those boys, because we would have been a lot stronger with them. Paul (Cosgrove) is nearly 6'6 and he would have been a great fielder of the ball in the middle. The rest of them are massive losses, but the boys that have come in have done well.
"We will push on and try and cope without them, but it certainly adds to our task. If we had've had a full squad, who knows what could have happened?"
Indeed, Maguire knows that on past evidence that a super team can be beaten on any given day and he feels that the right way to go into this one is to treat them the same as any other team they've faced so far this year.
"Teams get beaten eventually," he said. "We are not going out to stand and admire these guys. As soon as we are on the field with them, they are no different to any of the clubs down the road from us."
The two sides clash this Sunday in the quarter-finals of the Ulster SFC with throw-in time scheduled for 2.30pm at Oliver Plunkett Park, Crossmaglen.
