Lisbellaw primed for Ulster final date
October 31, 2008
On Sunday November 2 at Ballyshannon, Lisbellaw meet Setanta of Donegal in the Ulster junior club hurling championship final.
The Fermanagh champions will be hampered on a number of fronts...
Firstly, the choice of a Donegal venue is hardly helpful.
Then there is that fact that many of Lisbellaw's players will feature in Newry for Coa in the Ulster junior club football championship the previous day.
Throw in a broken collar bone for midfielder Gerry Murphy and injury concerns about Ryan Bogue (foot), Declan McGirr (hamstring) and Peter Tomoney (ankle) and it's clear that the Gods seem to be conspiring against the Fermanagh champions.
The positive news for joint managers Sean Duffy and Seamus McCusker is that former Down star Franz Hoeritzauer is available for selection again after recovering from an ankle injury.
