Derrygonnelly and Fermanagh star Ryan Jones is confident that they will be in good shape for an assault on the Ulster club SFC.

The Fermanagh champions retained the New York Cup a number of weeks ago, but just last Sunday, they added the league title to their list of honours for the year.

Jones admitted to the Fermanagh Herald that the win over Ederney was the perfect preparation for the provincial campaign which begins with a clash against the yet unknown Antrim champions.

“Conditions at the weekend were exactly like Ulster club,” said Jones. “It’s really a dogfight, it’s about the team that can keep the ball, retain possession, keep the scoreboard ticking over, not concede goals, which we didn’t against Ederney and being able to nail your frees.”
