Rasdale urges players to make the most of opportunity

Derrygonnelly joint manager Brendan Rasdale has urged the players to make the most of this golden period in the club’s history.

On Sunday, they take on Ederney in the Fermanagh SFC final at Brewster Park as they aim to lift the New York Cup for the fourth consecutive time.

If they do win, it will be the club’s seventh county senior football title in their history, so it is easy to see that this is a golden period for the club.

Speaking to the Fermanagh Herald, Rasdale acknowledged the fact that this run will not go on forever and  he has stressed that to the players.

“We made the breakthrough with the first championship win in 1995, Sean Flanagan a massive figure for us then and then the arrival of Paul and Martin Green was equally important some seasons later, but looking back there would be the feeling that the end return could have been better,” said Rasdale.
