Caffrey feared for players' safety

Dublin county manager Paul Caffrey has explained how he feared for the safety of his subs when violence broke out during the Dublin versus Tyrone NFL clash at Healy Park in Omagh. Caffrey says he was so concerned that the on-pitch violence was going to spill out into the subs benches and spectator viewing facility that he ordered his subs out of the dugout and away from the stand behind them. "There was a lot of home support around where the players were sitting and if anything should come out of this it should be about the safety of the players," Caffrey said. "There was a lot of intimidation going on behind by back. "I think people are going to have to stand up and think about the players because they are the ones who are important in all of this. "We took them out of the dugout because it was unsafe for them."
