We've heard Shane Horgan and Robbie Henshaw both thanking their GAA backgrounds for famous tries they scored against England.

Yesterday another Irish rugby star, Ian Madigan, set up Luke Fitzgerald for a try against Scotland at the Aviva Stadium with a delightful cross-field kick - a skill he honed during his underage days with Kilmacud Crokes.

The out-half, who won an All-Ireland Feile medal with the Stillorgan-based club, said: "It would be rude not to thank Kilmacud Crokes, they certainly taught me well about how to kick a round ball when I was a kid.

"In fairness to Lukey (Fitzgerald), he gave me the shout in and I thought he finished it really well, it's great to see him back out there on the pitch."
