Kelleher points to Dubs' centre problem

Former Dublin manager Humphrey Kelleher fears for his adopted county, as they prepare to take on his native Waterford in the All-Ireland SHC quarterfinal on Sunday.

Kelleher points to the fact that the Dubs don't have a recognised centre forward and he reckons this is an area that Waterford can dominate and build from the back.

The Waterford native who was manager of Dublin in 2004 and 2005 has been vocal in his opinion on the style of Dublin's play this year.

And although he is delighted to see Liam Rushe pushed back to centre back, Kelleher feels that Ryan O'Dwyer needs to move from midfield to the number 11 position.

"It has left a void up front. You see Eamonn Dillon up there and he wouldn't be filling that role naturally. That is the problem," Kelleher told the Waterford News & Star.

"I suspect that someone like Ryan O'Dwyer might go back in there. Dublin have been missing a centre forward for a long time and that's why Ger Cunningham would have put Liam Rushe up there in the first place to have a bit of presence. I think that Austin Gleeson and Tadgh De Burca will be mopping up a lot of ball if Dublin don't have someone in there fighting for that ball. That could cause Dublin problems."
