Jim Gavin has clarified that he has agreed a two year extension to stay on as Dublin football manager.

It was widely reported yesterday that the Round Towers clubman would remain in situ for one more year regardless of what happens in this year's championship but, speaking to the media this morning, he confirmed that the job is his until 2017, at least.

Gavin had mixed news on the injury front for sky blue supporters as he declared Paul Flynn fit to feature in Sunday's Leinster SFC opener against Longford but the game comes too soon for James McCarthy and Ger Brennan.

Full-back Rory O'Carroll, meanwhile, has been given until tonight to prove his fitness according to the manager.

The Kilmacud Crokes player has been struggling with a hamstring injury since the end of the successful league campaign.
