O Fearghail: Dubs should hit the road

Aogan O'Fearghail is in favour of Dublin playing some of their championship matches outside Croke Park.

The Dubs haven't played a championship game outside Croker since they travelled to Longford in 2006, and this has led to claims they have an unfair advantage over other teams who aren't as familiar with GAA headquarters.

"Dublin should be like any other county," the GAA president said at the launch of RTE's championship coverage yesterday.

"They should take the luck of the draw and play wherever the draw brings them. I know the Dublin players would welcome that too, and I think supporters around the country do.

"I've seen Dublin in Clones, I've seen them in Longford, and it's been good for everybody. As far as I'm concerned, Dublin should be the exact same as Carlow.

"Wherever the luck of the draw brings you, away you go."
