Eamon Fennell says Michael Savage's point-blank save from Bernard Brogan was a defining moment in the Dublin SFC final.

With Oliver Plunkett's ahead by 0-3 to no score at the time, the 2010 Footballer of the Year found himself in a one-on-one with Savage in Parnell Park last night, but the St Vincent's custodian got his fingertips to Brogan's effort and the Marino men went on to capture a 27th county crown.

"Yeah, it was massive and 'Savo' has been doing it all year," midfielder Fennell says in The Irish Daily Star. "In saying that, we had one or two chances as well.

"Their 'keeper pulled off some great saves as well, but maybe a little luck helped us on the day as well.

"Credit to them, they worked their socks off, won the throw-up and got the first three scores and rattled us a bit.

"I was a bit annoyed. We had to get our focus and win ball in the middle. In the previous game, they had won it in the middle of the park and it gave them a platform to go up and attack.

"When we got a hold of the middle in the second half of the first half, we got stable and kicked scores. When you get the opportunities, you have to take them."
