Only the best will do for Sutcliffe

Danny Sutcliffe has stressed the need for Dublin to appoint a new hurling manager in the mould of Anthony Daly.

Interviews for the vacancy are set to take place next week, and the All Star forward is hoping the new man will be able to bring the same qualities and pedigree to the table as Daly did.

"Anthony has been there and won All-Irelands and I think that's something we need from the next candidate, that he has that experience from either managing or playing to guide us there," Sutcliffe is quoted in the Irish Daily Star.

Sutcliffe says he owes a lot to Daly for making him the player he is today.

"People underestimate how grateful we were to him and what he done for us. I got an All Star and I wouldn't have dream of that only for him.

"But someone is going to come in with their own system and you're going to have to adapt to that and give them your time, your commitment and that's what I'll be doing."
