Mayo the biggest threat to Dublin - Sheedy

Longford manager Jack Sheedy
Jack Sheedy sees Mayo as the biggest threat to Dublin's back-to-back All-Ireland bid.

The Dubs are odds-on favourites to retain the Sam Maguire Cup for the first time in 37 years and former midfield star Sheedy believes Mayo lead the pack of potential challengers.

Nor does Sheedy dismiss Donegal or Kerry: "I still think Mayo are probably the closest to Dublin at the moment," the current Longford manager states in The Irish Daily Mirror.

"I think they would definitely be the biggest challenge to Dublin in a head-to-head but against Donegal, if they meet them, they have a fantastic system and it's very difficult to break down.

"It'll be a difficult system to get around. Donegal have perfected it; they've been working at it for quite a while. From the Dublin point of view, that will be a difficult one and it showed in 2011.

"Mayo haven't gone away. Kerry are still lingering there in the background, very much under the radar as well and that'll suit them perfectly."
