Kehoe Shield: Strong finish sees Fingal advance
January 30, 2012
Fingal booked a place in the Kehoe Shield final after an impressive win over Louth at Darver on Sunday afternoon.
The home side got the best of starts and led by three - 0-5 to 0-2 approaching the half time whistle. However the dismissal of Adrian Wallace for a second bookable offence was a huge blow for Louth as Fingal rallied with two late scores to leave one between them at the break.
In the second half, it was nip and tuck until Brian Corcoran fired to the net to leave Louth infront 1-7 to 0-7.
The visitors produced an impressive response when Andy Richardson fired pass John Carter. This swung the game in Fingal's direction as they pushed ahead by two with some superb scores.
Two late points from the visitors ensured there would be no comeback as they ran out 1-12 to 1-8 winners.
