Dublin's Diarmuid Connolly after being sent off against Donegal in the All Ireland semi final
Dublin forward Diarmuid Connolly could miss the opening rounds of the National football league through suspension.

It has been reported in a national newspaper that the Leinster Council's CCC has requested a video of last Sunday's O'Byrne Cup clash between Kildare and Dublin at Newbridge.

Connolly is alleged to have been involved in an incident during the match along with Kildare's Ciaran Fitzpatrick, which went unpunished by referee Eddie Kinsella and the CCC have the authority to hand down a suspension if the incident is not mentioned in the referee's report.

Under the current rules, Connolly could be hit with a four week suspension as the new rule of match bans does not come into force until February 4th. If the St Vincent's clubman is suspended he could miss the opening two rounds of the league against Kerry and Mayo.
