DCU recorded a comfortable 2-22 to 2-10 win over Fingal in the opening round of the Kehoe Cup at Swords on Sunday afternoon.

Emmet Kent was the start of the show for the students as he registered eleven points over the course of the hour with ten of his tally coming from placed balls.

DCU never really looked troubled throughout and they lead by 1-11 to 1-4 at the interval with David Reidy scoring the students goal in reply to Martin Ormond's three-pointer earlier in the half.

Points from Kent, Wes O'Brien and Sean McGrath were followed by DCU's second goal in the 53rd minute when O'Brien fired to the net.

Ormond responded for Fingal, put there was to be no late comeback and their woes were compounded when Peter Balfe was shown a red card. Tweet
